What are Howdy Candles made of?

Our candles are made with 100% soy wax, clean-burning cotton wicks, and phthalate-free fragrance oils. No parabens, no nonsense.

Are your candles vegan & cruelty-free?

Yup! No animal products, no animal testing — just good-smelling, feel-good vibes.

Where are your candles made?

Each candle is hand-poured with love in Austin, Texas.

🕯 Burning & Care

How long do your candles burn?

Our standard 8oz candles burn for approximately 40–45 hours when cared for properly. That's a lot of vibes.

How do I make my candle last longer?

Trim your wick to ¼" before each burn, let it melt all the way to the edges on the first light (to avoid tunneling), and don’t burn it for more than 4 hours at a time.

Why is my candle tunneling/not burning evenly?

It probably needed a longer first burn! Soy wax has memory — let the top melt fully edge to edge before snuffing it out to keep it even.

💨 Scents & Allergies

Are your candles safe for sensitive noses or pets?

We use high-quality, non-toxic fragrance oils, but every nose is different! Always test in a well-ventilated area and keep candles out of reach of pets.

The scent seems lighter than I expected — is that normal?

Soy wax throws scent more gently than paraffin, but once lit, it fills a room in a cozy way. For maximum scent power, burn in a medium-sized room.

How long will it take to get my order?

Orders usually ship within 3–5 business days. You’ll get tracking info as soon as it’s on the move!

Do you offer local pickup?

Not yet — but we’re working on it, especially for our fellow Austinites. Stay tuned!

Do you ship internationally?

Oui! International shipping rates will apply though.

My candle arrived damaged — help!

Oh no! Email us at howdy@howdycandle.com with a photo and your order number. We’ll make it right, promise.

Do you accept returns?

We accept returns on non-customized items within 14 days of delivery, provided the product is in its original packaging and remains unused. Please note that the buyer is responsible for the cost of return shipping, and initial shipping fees are non-refundable. We ask that you carefully inspect your order upon receipt and reach out to us right away if your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. This allows us to evaluate the issue and find the best solution. To initiate a return, please email us at info@howdycandle.com, and we’ll guide you through the next steps.

Due to the personalized nature of our custom candles, we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds on these items. Each custom candle is made uniquely for you, with individual photos, scents, and designs tailored specifically to your preferences. We take great care to ensure the highest quality in our products, so please review all details carefully before finalizing your order. If there are any issues with the quality of your custom candle upon delivery, please reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to assist in resolving the matter.
